Danube Vltava Sava Polymer Meeting: Vienna, September 5-8, 2017

The field of polymer science continues year after year to steadily advance fueled both by academic enthusiasm and by industrial pragmatism. The numerous environmental and economic benefits of polymers make these materials popular for manufacturers, fabricators and consumers within a wide range of different industrial sectors.

The Danube Vltava Sava Polymer Meeting (DVSPM) aims to bring together the brightest minds from both academia and industry to collectively present and discuss the fundamental issues within this still burgeoning field. The meeting consists of seminars from international leaders of polymer science with topics addressing critical issues such as synthesis, analytical methods, modelling, structure-property relations, polymer processing, as well as applications.

The DVSPM Meeting has its origin in the Austrian Polymer Days that are held bianually since the beginning of the 90s. The first DVSPM meeting was held in Gmunden, in 2015. This 3 river conference (Danube, Vltava, Sava) builds also on the tradition of the “Austrian Slovenian Polymer Meeting”, and the “Advances in Polymer Science & Technology” bringing together the polymer communities of the central European region. Looking to continue a tradition of excellence set by the previous meetings, the Vienna University of Technology will host the second Symposium to be held September 5-8, 2017.

It is the intention of the organizers to provide ample time for discussion to emphasize the workshop character and stimulate the exchange of new ideas. The program will contain numerous invited talks given by respectable scientists working in the field of polymer science. In addition, other contributed papers with 15 minutes allotted for presentations as well as posters may be submitted.

In 2017, DVSPM is also hosting the International H. F. Mark Symposium 2017, held on Thursday 7th at the conference venue.

International Symposium on Sustainable Applications of Nanomaterials: From Organic and Printed Electronics to Nanomedicine

This major symposium is in honor of the distinguished work and lifetime achievements of Professors Kiparissides and Logothetidis. This all-inclusive symposium will be held in Fiesta Americana Condesa 5-Star Resort in Cancun, Mexico, on 22-26 October 2017.

CARISMA 2017

The Carisma conferences are well recognised in the community of fuel cell research and application. They were initiated by Deborah Jones as a follow-up of a European Research Project. The conference covers all aspects of Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells but with an emphasis on HT-PEM. Previous conferences were held in La Grande Motte, France (2008 and 2010), Copenhagen, Denmark (2012), and Cape Town, South Africa (2014). The CARISMA 2017 conference is scheduled from the 9th April - 12th April 2017 at Newcastle University in Newcastle upon Tyne. Prof. Kallitsis is invited to give a keynote lecture in the area of “Polymer Development”.

The Press Conference for Smartonics Project closing took place on Monday 16 Jan 2017 at Porto Palace Conference Centre and Hotel, Thessaloniki - Greece. During the press conference, the project's achievements were announced to public and media, while 6 Greek project partners (from research, academia and industry) commented on the project's results and future perspectives.

The Eurofillers Conference is one of the most important traditional meetings in Europe. It was established in 1995 and, since then, it is organized every two years in a different city of Europe. It aims at bringing together researchers from academia, research organizations and industry in the very important area of filled systems and polymer mixtures. Since 2015, Eurofillers has merged with the Polymer Blends Conference, thus, combining the two topics. It is anticipated that this will lead to a better coordination between the two communities, which will result in more opportunities for collaborative advances to both fields. The Conference will bring together scientists working on polymer blends, interfaces and interphases, polymer composites and nanocomposites, nanostructured polymers, functional materials, bio-based polymers and biocomposites, modern applications of polymers, etc. The scientific program will feature plenary/keynote lectures, invited talks, and oral and poster presentations. The Eurofillers - Polymer Blends 2017 Conference will be held at Hersonissos, Heraklion Crete, Greece during April 23-27, 2017.

Smart Coatings 2017

February 22-24, 2017 - Orlando, Florida, USA

The Smart Coatings Symposium is an annual international event that brings together scientists and business leaders from across the globe for three days in Orlando, FL, to share and discuss the latest developments and trends in cutting-edge technologies pertaining to 'smart' materials and coatings. Ever since its inception in 2005, Smart Coatings Symposium attracts an average of 180 participants from all over the world. The finest quality talks by speakers drawn from the top-notch institutions and industries makes this symposium truly outstanding. Smart Coatings 2017 will be held in Orlando, Florida, USA from 22-24 February, 2017.

The 6th EUROPEAN PEFC & ELECTROLYSER FORUM 2017 will be held in Lucerne, Switzerland during 4 – 7 July 2017 and will be a highlight of the year for those involved with HYDROGEN-, DIRECT ALCOHOL-  and  MICROBIAL FUEL CELLS as well as ELECTROLYSERS and linked HYDROGEN PROCESSING & PURIFICATION & STORAGE. The Focus lies on science & engineering, materials & manufacturing, components & systems, design, testing & integration, applications, operation & combinations, and markets issues. The forum is exchange platform and bridge from Materials & Components to Applications. It provides a comprehensive State-of-the-Art, access to practical Inventions and new competitive Solutions. Therefore it brings together academia, industry (component manufacturers, OEMs, suppliers,...), decision makers and investors. In this major field of hydrogen fuel cells the forum evolved into the leading European meeting place.
