Research Activities

The Advanced Polymers & Hybrid Nanomaterials Research Laboratory – APHN-RL focuses on the design and development of polymers and hybrid materials for technological applications in Energy, Health and Environmental areas.

Breakthroughs & achievements in the areas of:

  • Polymer electrolytes Membranes, for Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells (PEMFCs),
  • Semiconducting polymers and hybrid polymer-carbon nanostructure systems for Organic Photovoltaics (OPVs),
  • Light emitting polymers with tunable and controllable light emission and also with white light emission for Polymer Light Emitting Diodes (PLEDs, WPLEDs).
  • Antimicrobial Polymers and coatings with controllable release of the active species.

More specifically the Research Activities of the Advanced Polymers & Hybrid Nanomaterials Research Laboratory – APHN-RL cover the following fields:

Materials for Organic Electronics

Light Emitting Polymers

Hybrid Materials based on semiconducting Polymers
